1. ASSIGNMENT QUESTION/ TASK/ CASE STUDY
1) Compare the prices of same property type in at least 3 different new property projects or
second hand properties. The property location can be within Klang Valley or outside of
Klang Valley, within the boundary of Selangor state. Type of property can be Shop, Condo,
Bungalow, Superlink, Cluster home, double storey terrace house and so on. Property project
photos, flyers or advertisements need to be binded as references.
2) Based on the survey of the above property projects, explain:
2.1) the determinants of Demand
2.2) the determinants of Supply
2. OBJECTIVES AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
By completing this assignment students are expected to be able to
i. Understand the housing demand and the supply in the economy.
ii. Understand the elements that relevant to competition in the economy.
iii. Relate factors above mentioned to the property industry.
3. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS FORMAT
Students are required to submit the assignments given in written document individually.
The assignment has to be typewritten on A4 size paper, font-size of 12 points with type face
of Times New Roman has to be used throughout the report, with line spacing of 1.5 lines.
Marks will strictly be given to the originality of your work. Students are advised to cite the
sources of data and references to avoid plagiarism. Plagiarism will be penalized.
YOUR SUBMISSION SHOULD REACH ME NOT LATER THAN THE SUBMISSION DATE
Pass : 40% - 54% of total allocated marks
A pass grade is achieved by
i. Meeting all the requirements defined in the assessment criteria/indicative content.
ii. Meeting all the required learning outcomes presented above
Merit : 55% - 69% of total allocated marks
In order to achieve a merit the student must :
i. Meet all the requirements defined in the assessment criteria/indicative content.
ii. Meet all the required learning outcomes presented above
iii. Be able to collate, analyse and process information/data
iv. Be able to apply the knowledge and skills using relevant theories and techniques
v. Be able to communicate works using technical language accurately.
Distinction - 70% - 100% of total allocated marks
In order to achieve a distinction the student must :
i. Meet all the requirements defined in the assessment criteria/indicative content.
ii. Meet all the required learning outcomes presented above
iii. Be able to check the validity of complex information/data
iv. Be able to evaluate and synthesize relevant theories and techniques to generate and
v. Be able to show and individual approach in presenting/communicating works coherently,
using technical language fluently and accurately.
